Do You Want to Learn How to Play Golf for Beginners

by David Karlson on March 15, 2010

Are you looking for tips on how to play golf for beginners? There are many reasons for people to want to take up this sport. Do you have one?

Some people take up the game because they love being outdoors and getting some exercise. But before anyone can play, they first need to learn how to play.

Keep in mind that golf is not an easy game and that many people have quit over their frustration. One way to help learn and improve your game is to watch golf instructional videos. Both experienced and new players can help their game in this manner.

There are different methods of learning how to play golf for beginners besides videos. You can incorporate other methods into your plan including lessons, online forums, private lessons and plenty of practice. Some people feel that buying new equipment all the time will help their game, this is not true at all!

Since there always seems to be new equipment on the market every year, the temptation is there to continually upgrade. Instead of spending a fortune every year on the sport, why not improve your game first.

Many golfers often overlook their fitness, in fact too many ride around the course in golf carts and don’t get the exercise the game was meant to provide. Is your fitness level up to par?

There are many exercises and stretches designed for the golfer in mind; this is especially true for the beginner. Do not become frustrated with your lack of progress; remember it is just a game. It is a game that people of all ages play; including playing at the same time. It can be very enjoyable having three generations of one family playing a round of golf!

I always wanted to learn how to play golf, but I’ve never managed to get the swings right. I’ve tried being on a driving range a few times and most of the time fail to even hit the ball, even with someone helping me!

Crazy golf, on the other hand, is brilliant, and I love it. I’d love to see a ridiculous crazy golf Olympic event – it’d make the Olympics much more amusing 🙂

My friends and I are interested in learning how to golf, but sadly we don’t have many golfing areas around here.. so when we get together, we just go to the go-kart derby a few blocks away..One of my friends is planning to build a mini-golf course or something like that at his backyard. We hope it works out!

There’s a phrase experienced golfers use to describe newbies who look like they have game… but don’t: “Hes got a $1,000 bag and a $10 game.”

That creative phrase holds a kernel of truth – you shouldn’t spend tons of money on golf until you know how to play it. Golf is an expensive game. You’ll have plenty of time down the cart path to buy top-notch clubs.
